Photos of Christmas 2004
These pics were taken around Christmas time. We had a small downfall of snow
on Christmas Day - not enough to cause any problems but enough to give us all
that Christmassy feel. Most of these views were taken on what used to be the route
of an old railway line from Accrington to Bury. Notice the blue hue to the photos - this is
probably caused by the clear blue sky reflecting off the snow.
A view, taken from the bridge, of the stream that runs through
the valley.

Another view of the stream with Oscar, one of our our labradors, in the foreground
A view of the old footbridge which has just been refurbished. This
will be part of a national cycletrack shortly to be built along the route
of the railway line. Eventually this will be part of a national cycleway
of nearly 300 miles in length.
Another view of the bridge with Oscar trotting along.
A view through the trees into the winter landscape.
A view along the line towards Accrington town. Nobody is taking
advantage of the bench seats !
Xmas is a bad time for the geese - here are a few of the survivors
The cottages we pass on the way down to the old railway line
A photo showing the houses and church in the distant.
