"Hello" from
John and Lynne
|
Words cannot express our sorrow at your suffering in New York and Washington on Sept 11th 2001. Th official mourning may be over but, like you, we will never forgive nor forget. Also, we must not forget the atrocities in the London bombings on 7th July 2005 - our thoughts go to those who suffered in this apalling tragedy. It is difficult to fathom the minds of people who carry out these actions but we are convinced that there is no God who would condone such heinous acts of barbarism. These pages are written for our family and
friends, especially those friends whom we have met through email and who now
correspond with us from all over the world - at least they can now put faces to
names;but anyone at all can feel free to browse and are most
welcome..............Stop awhile - have a cuppa !! We have tried to show how we live, where we live and have included some
photographs of our family and of our local area.
Lynne and John live in Baxenden
which is a village close to Accrington in the Borough of Hyndburn in
the County of Lancashire.
The children (all grown up now) have left home and live in different parts of
the country.
And last, but the most important member of the family and the friend of all
of Baxenden:
..........Fred - Our Golden Labrador ........ Pages updated in June 2006
To make negotiating around this
site easy (for me that is) I have brought you back to this page each time so
that you can select another page to go to... if you understand what I mean
...!!!
Regrettably Fred died at
the end of May 2000. Pages in his memory are linked below.
We now have
another dog - he will never replace Fred - nobody will, but it seemed strange
not having a dog around we got another Labrador from a Labrador Rescue Centre.
His name is "Oscar" and you can link to his pages below. Early 2002 we got a black Labrador puppy called "Charlie" to keep
Oscar company and his photos are included on Oscar's pages.
I have tried to keep the images as 'small' bytesize as possible so that they download quickly - it sometimes means a loss of quality but I'm sure you will understand!!
